Carlstadt court administrator, deputy charged with ticket fixing, license fraud

Carlstadt’s 69-year-old court administrator and her deputy court administrator fixed traffic tickets so people could duck fees and avoid suspensions, while conspiring to keep the deputy from losing her license by tampering with motor vehicle records, authorities charged yesterday.

Court Administrator Joyce Rotundo and her deputy, 41-year-old Lori D’Amore, conspired with one another to falsify records by “sending letters and rescinding orders to the New Jersey Division of Motor Vehicles requesting the restoration of driving privileges and waiver of restoration fees for D’Amore and two other Bergen County residents,” Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.

They also “altered the status of numerous parking summonses” for D’Amore and other county residents “to avoid the payment of court fees, the suspension of driving privileges and the payment of restoration fees,” the prosecutor said.

Rotondo was charged with three counts of falsifying or tampering with records and one count of conspiracy.

D’Amore was charged with two tampering counts and one conspiracy offense.

Rotondo and D’Amore, who both live in Carlstadt, were both processed and issued complaint summonses with arraignments set for next Thursday in Central Municipal Court in Hackensack.
