The Mitsubishi Lancer struck the tree on Pascack Road around 1:30 p.m. as the southbound driver tried onto a Garden State Parkway entrance ramp near Cambridge Road in Paramus and lost control of the vehicle, Paramus Deputy Police Chief Robert Guidetti told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Responding were Paramus police and EMS, along with paramedics from The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center.

“We advise drivers to always wear a seat belt, take it slow during icy conditions, and go easy on your brakes especially in turns,” Guidetti said. “Anti-lock brakes do not work well on ice and snow.”
