Meanwhile, police released information on the vehicle: It’s white or eggshell-colored, with tinted windows, a possible Nissan emblem and probable front end and passenger-side mirror damage, Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said.

Tomo Shindo and a male companion were riding foldable bikes when she was struck on Paramus Road — in the area of Farmington Lane, ust north of Route 4 — around 9:10 p.m. She was taken to Hackensack Medical Center with head injuries, Ehrenberg said.

The SUV “initially slowed down, then fled south on Paramus Road,” the chief said.

Although at first unconscious, the victim came around before being taken to HUMC.

Paramus police and EMS workers and a paramedic unit from The Valley Hospital responded.
