It’s a silver or white, late-model Mercedes Benz SUV, possibly an ML350, 450 or 550, that may have damage on the front passenger side headlamp, bumper or fender.

Maria Cano of Teaneck was crossing East Clinton Avenue at South Washington Avenue when she was struck by the eastbound vehicle at 6:20 a.m., police said this afternoon.

The SUV then continued east toward Tenafly, they said.

Cano was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center by the Bergenfield Volunteer Ambulance Corps with injuries that an emergency responder told CLIFFVIEW PILOT were “serious but not life-threatening.”

Anyone who saw anything or has information that could help police in the case is asked to contact Detective Richard Ramos at (201) 387-4000, ext. 4111.
