Mohamad Khalaifeh, 36, who is single and unemployed, was taken into custody at his Getty Avenue apartment before being released on a summons charging him with identify theft and public records tampering, Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said.
The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission notified his detectives that Khalaiefh “provided the personal identifying information and documents of another person to the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission in order to obtain a New Jersey driver’s license,” Grewal said.
“The fraud was identified as a result of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission’s ongoing anti-fraud initiative,” he said.
Khalaiefh was scheduled for a Dec. 20 first appearance in Central Judicial Court in Hackensack.
