Local investigators had to go Peoria before they finally tracked down a man who they said raped a 16-year-old Teaneck girl eight years ago.

The girl told investigators that 45-year-old Kent Bell, now living in Illinois, “kissed her on her mouth, [and] rubbed and digitally penetrated her vagina on two occasions around May 2001, at a residence in Teaneck,” said Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli.

He had been in Teaneck for about two weeks when the incidents occurred, the prosecutor said.

Yesterday, agents with the U.S. Marshals and Peoria County Sheriff’s Department arrested Bell, who is being held in the county jail there pending an extradition hearing, Molinelli said.

He is charged with aggravated sexual assault and child endangerment.
