Brelin remains remains in critical condition at Hackensack University Medical Center.
And although he remains sedated, “doctors are cautiously optimistic regarding his condition,” according to Capt. James Mullin.
Breslin, a father of two, was critically injured after his department SUV was rammed from behind when he stopped to help a fellow officer who lost his radio connection on Route 46 in Lodi before dawn Saturday. Michael Ettz, a Lodi High School teacher charged with the crash, was drunk at the time, authorities said.
Breslin’s family today repeated its “deep appreciation to the Bergen County Police Department, the HUMC medical teams, and the overwhelming response from people everywhere in support of Danny.”
They said they are “certain it is the love surrounding Danny that is helping him fight to make slightly positive progress.”
They ask that people continue praying.
