An officer stopped her 2004 Honda Accord after Ashley N. Blount, 28, blew through an E-ZPass lane around 7:30 a.m., the authority's Joseph Pentangelo told Daily Voice.

Blount, a former high school social studies teacher with bachelor's and master's degrees from Montclair State University, has been an assistant principal at Harlem Children's Zone since May 2015, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Records shows that her E-ZPass account was revoked and that Blount owes $3,146 in tolls & $10,950 in fees, Pentangelo said.

Blount was charged with theft of services and released pending a hearing. Her car was impounded, Pentangelo said.
