The citizen approached officers investigating the 3:30 a.m. break-in Thursday on Madison Avenue, Police Chief Robert Flannelly said Monday.

The vehicle was registered out of Flushing, he said.

Detectives Sgt. James DePreta and Detective Chris Bermudez co-ordinated with their colleagues in the 109th Precinct and found the vehicle by 10 p.m. Thursday, the chief said.

"Inside the vehicle were hundreds of pieces of jewelry, electronics, and a safe stolen from the Rochelle Park victim," he said.

The group took Mobeta Ceka into custody.

On Friday, DePreta and Lt. Dean Pinto escorted the victims to the 109th Precinct, where they were re-united with their stolen property.

Detectives were working to identify the accomplice and were pursuing links to addtional burglaries, Flannelly said.

Ceka was being held without bail pending extradition to New Jersey.
