Airline Employee, 54, Struck In Head By Propeller At Newark Airport

NEWARK, N.J. -- (UPDATE) An airline employee was severely injured when she struck in the head by a moving airplane propeller at Newark Airport, authorities said.

The victim was taken to University Hospital with a severe head injury.

The plane wasn't on a runway when the 54-year-old Orange woman was struck opposite the Terminal A maintenance area around 2:20 a.m. Saturday, the Port Authority's Joseph Pentangelo told Daily Voice.

She was taken to University Hospital with a severe head injury, he said.

Airport operations weren't disrupted, Pentangelo said.
