3 injured in Rochelle Park Jeep, ambulance crash

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A Jeep occupant and two ambulance EMTs were taken to the hospital after a crash this afternoon on Essex Street in Rochelle Park near the Route 17 overpass.

The Jeep Liberty apparently t-boned the CarePlus ambulance, knocking it on its side, around 1:10 p.m., an emergency responder told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

The extent of the female Jeep occupant’s injuries couldn’t immediately be determined.

Two EMTs who were in the rig were taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood — one with arm and shoulder injuries. Their injuries were characterized as minor.

No patients were aboard.

The site of the crash initially was reported as Lodi.

Because of construction obstacles, Lodi emergency personnel arrived first, quickly followed by Rochelle Park.
