The truck had stopped near the intersection of Linwood Avenue and Solas Court just after 10:30 a.m. when the 29-year-old driver from Monroe, N.Y., steered around it, Ridgewood Police Chief John Ward told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

The front tire of her Honda Odyssey hit a metal step used by haulers, puncturing the right front tire.

Ridgewood police, firefighters and EMS crews responded.

Although both the woman and child appeared OK, they were taken to the hospital as a precaution, Ward said.

“Thankfully there were no serious injuries,” the chief said. “That’s always a good thing.”
