A veteran of the Vietnam War, Tuite served in the Navy for 20 years. He then went on to work for General Electric Company as an engineer in Italy; France; Lynn, Massachusetts; and White Plains, New York.
He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church and a lifetime member of the American Legion.
Tuite is survived by his wife, Carla (Viola) Tuite; children Michele Brown and her husband Tommy of Jacksonville, and David Osimo and his wife Laia of Barcelona, Spain; and grandchildren Kristin, Justin, Theti, Fiamma, Ona and Maria.
He is predeceased by his brother, Thomas Tuite.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 30, at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Service, 397 Union St., in Hackensack. The funeral will be at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday from the funeral home, with a 10:30 a.m. mass at Holy Trinity Church, in Hackensack. Cremation will follow at Cedar Lawn Crematory.
