HACKENSACK, N.J. – James S. Gallagher, a resident of Hackensack and formerly of Norwood, died Wednesday, July 13. He was 78.
He worked for General Motors in New York City for many years before retiring. He was an active parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church in Norwood and enjoyed being in the choir.
He is survived by his children, Julie Gallagher of Hackensack and Daniel and his wife Teresa of Upper Saddle River; and grandchildren, Christina and Sandra.
He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia; son, James; and brothers, John and Edward.
Visiting will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave., Northvale. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart RC Church, 102 Park St., Haworth, with interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery in Sparkill.
