Alfred 'Freddie' Geosits, 79, Maywood Resident

MAYWOOD, N.J. -- Alfred "Freddie" Geosits, of Maywood, died on Monday, Jan. 30. He was 79.

Before he retired, Geosits was a butcher for White Packing, in North Bergen. He then was the owner of A and H Convenience Store in River Vale. 

He was a member of the Maywood Golden Age Club, St. Peters and Paul Hungarian Club in the Bronx, and the Austrian Football Club in the Bronx.

Geosits is survived by his wife of 52 years, Helen (Pehr) Geosits; sons Robert Geosits and his wife Arlene of Hillsdale, and Gary Geosits of Maywood; grandson Zack Geosits; and siblings Cilli, Eva, Terka, Veronka and Imre Geosits.

A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, in Maywood. Cremation was held privately.  The Vander Plaat Memorial Home, in Paramus, assisted with arrangements.
