HackensackUMC Names New Vice President Of Clinical Integration

HACKENSACK, N.J. – HackensackUMC has named Dr. Sharad Sahu the vice president of Clinical Integration.

In this position, Sahu will lead the integration of clinical programs and ensure standards of care across HackensackUMC.

“Congratulations to Dr. Sahu on his new position at HackensackUMC. I am very pleased that Dr. Sahu will be bringing together our physician leaders and healthcare team to share best practices and lead clinical integration,” said Dr. Ihor Sawczuk, president, HackensackUMC.

Board certified in internal medicine, Sahu has been a part of the HackensackUMC community since 2004. He was director of physician affairs, the chairman of the Medical Executive Committee, chief of the division of general internal medicine, chair of the Clinical Integration Committee and the physician lead for the CityMD/HackensackUMC partnership.

As director of physician affairs, he has been directly involved in clinical integration at the Hackensack University Health Network affiliates. He has worked with chairs of all departments at HackensackUMC regarding safety, quality, length of stay and volume.

Sahu has been the physician lead for the Integration Steering Committee with HackensackUMC Palisades, the newest addition to HackensackUHN. This committee is tasked with streamlining clinical initiatives. He also directly oversees urgent care ventures for HackensackUMC. He was involved in integration with nine CVS Minute Clinic affiliations with HackensackUMC and two CityMD New Jersey locations in Paramus and Clifton.

Sahu earned his bachelor’s degree at Boston College, Chestnut Hill, Mass., in biology and economics. He attended medical school at St. George’s University School of Medicine.
