Mile Square Roofing Co. Inc., received fines for three safety violations on June 19 regarding worker safety, including one that was a repeat violation, according to James Lally with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
The company was fined for failure to have a safe way for employees to move from the lower to the upper roof by not providing a ladder or any other safe means of access; for failing to provide ladders with side rails for employees to access a 19-foot-high roof, and for failing to provide fall protection of any kind, including scaffolding.
The fines included $4,183; $6,972, and $19,520. All of the violations were corrected during the inspection. The case against the company remains open to ensure safety issues remain corrected.
The company has 15 days to remit payment.
