HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Over the next two months, the federal Environmental Protection Agency will be studying pollution in the Hackensack River, to see if its bad enough to put make it a Superfund site, The Record has reported.
An earlier EPA study found lead, mercury and dioxins, among other pollutants, according to The Record.
Parts of the Hudson and Passaic rivers already have the infamous designation, The Record reported. If the Hackensack is added, the agency would then develop a cleanup plan.
