HackensackUMC Mobile Access allows patients within the HackensackUMC community to access their medical data, search for and connect with Hackensack physicians, and even see up-to-date wait times in the emergency room.

“Our goal with the new mobile app was to create seamless connectivity between patients and physicians to elevate the level of care we provide our community,” Shafiq Rab, M.D., vice president and chief information officer, said in a statement. “The HackensackUMC Mobile Access app is a valuable, new tool to help patients easily access the information they need, and to feel empowered to take ownership of their healthcare.”

Some of the key features of the new app include:

  • Alerts: Notifications remind patients of upcoming appointments.
  • Doctor Search: Browse through the HackensackUMC physician directory or search for a specific doctor to pull up contact information. Patients can then easily call or email doctors from the app and schedule appointments.
  • ER Wait Time: Updates on wait times are continuously updated for the HackensackUMC emergency room so patients can know before they go.
“At HackensackUMC, we are continually incorporating the technologies and services that meet the changing needs of healthcare delivery in the 21st century,”  Robert C. Garrett, president and CEO of Hackensack University Health Network said. “The HackensackUMC Mobile Access app is one of many initiatives we are supporting to enhance our patients’ experiences and transform HackensackUMC into a truly integrated and patient-centered institution.”

The app is available to download for free in the Apple iTune’s app store.
