White Manna Hamburgers, Hackensack
What Makes It Patty Perfect: "There are no 'secret ingredients,'" owner Ronny Cohen said.
"It's fresh meat, real meat. We're a very small place, so everything has to come every day. Some people have forgotten where real food tastes like."
White Manna is a bit of an institution: it's been open since 1946, though it relocated just a few feet in 1969. The burger joint was featured on Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" in 2008.
The burgers – which are just "meat, cheese and good bread, and onions and pickles if you want them," Cohen said – also get high marks in customer reviews. TripAdvisor rates it No. 4 of 133 Hackensack restaurants.
