The first-ever month-long book drive, organized by Bergen County officials and the YWCA of Bergen County, celebrated International Literacy Day on Sept. 8.
Bergen County Freeholder Chairwoman Dr. Joan Voss, Bergen County Clerk John Hogan and YWCA CEO Helen Archontou were on hand Monday to accept the books, which will be donated to Family Promise, the Center for Hope & Safety, and other nonprofits.
The books can be dropped off at One Bergen Plaza in Hackensack through the end of the month.
