With Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco and the county freeholder board presiding, the 6:30 p.m. event will include a speaking program, a moment of silence and a reading of names at the Bergen County Administration Building between Hudson and River streets.
The administration building will also be lit in purple.
The Recovery Month observance "reinforces the positive message that behavioral health is essential to overall health, prevention works, treatment is effective, and people can and do recover," Tedesco said.
National Recovery Month "has inspired millions of people to raise awareness about mental and substance use disorders, share stories of recovery, and encourage others still in need of services and support," he said.
