Humc Celebrates Cancer Survivors At MetLife Stadium

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Thousands of cancer patients, survivors and their families will gather to celebrate life and liberty at a complimentary event at MetLife Stadium Sunday.

The annual "Celebrating Life and Liberty" event is hosted by the John Theurer Cancer Center at HackensackUMC from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Key events include a group photo on the 50-yard line with a 30-foot Statue of Liberty. 

THE MIDTOWN MEN, from the original cast of Jersey Boys will perform.

Various cancer advocacy organizations will be on hand to provide information about their services for all aspects of cancer care, support and survivorship including:

An inflatable colon that helps raise awareness toward colorectal cancer — the third most diagnosed cancer in the United States — will also be on display.
