On Tuesday, May 2, at 4:47 p.m., Officer Salvatore Rando Jr. was flagged down by a boardwalk ambassador in reference to a male that appeared to be in distress. The male was seen going into the ocean at Hartford Avenue, Atlantic City police said. Rando responded to the beach and found Darren Brathwaite in the surf in waist high water. Overdose Victim Found On Bench In Atlantic City A report of an unconscious man turned out to be an apparent drug overdose in Atlantic City, authorities said. On Friday, March 24, at 8:32 a.m., police were dispatched to the corner of New York and Adriatic Avenues. Officers arrived to find the unconscious male lying on a concrete bench near the sidewalk in the 300 block of north New York Avenue, police said. After checking for vital signs, officers began CPR until the Atlantic City Fire Department and Emergency Medical personnel arrived and took over CPR.  The male, 60, of Atlantic City, was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene. …

Atlantic City Man, 21, Arrested In Rooming House Arson A 21=year-old man from Atlantic City has been arrested for starting a fire in an occupied rooming house, authorities said. The Atlantic City Fire Department and patrol officers responded to the first block of north Kingston Avenue for a fire at 4:59 p.m. on Sunday.
