South Jersey Man Accused Of Beating Mom Dead Arrested In Pennsylvania: Prosecutor

A man accused of beating his mother to death in Camden County has been arrested in Pennsylvania, authorities said.

James Doran, 30, of Blackwood, NJ, was taken into custody by Pennsylvania State Police in Bedford, PA, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

Doran is charged with one count of first-degree murder in the death of Lillian Doran, 65, of Blackwood on Saturday, March 2, said Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay alongside Gloucester Township Police Chief David Harkins.

On Saturday, at about 10:20 a.m., Gloucester Township police received a 911 call about a deceased female located inside a residence on the 100 block Fairmount Avenue.

Police found Lillian Doran suffering from blunt force head trauma, they said. 

Doran will be held at the Bedford County Correctional Facility pending an extradition hearing, the prosecutor said.
