Child, 4, Drowns At Bergen County Home
A 4-year-old child drowned at a home in Woodcliff Lake on Friday, authorities confirmed. A 911 call brought officers to the home on Heidi Lane, a small cul-de-sac off Werimus Road next to the northbound Garden State Parkway shortly after 5 p.m. July 21, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. Woodcliff Lake police prevented a potential tragedy when they subdued a Westwood man who was carrying a loaded gun, authorities said. A 75-year-old Bergenfield retiree was caught sharing downloaded child porn, said authorities who arrested him Tuesday. Joseph Benestante was released pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack on charges of distributing child pornography, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. HACKENSACK, N.J. -- A private building custodian from Hackensack called no fewer than 19 municipal police departments threatening to "murder" officers, said authorities who arrested him.
