Edgardo Moran stood in the corner of the gym feeling like the underdog.
It was his first international trip and he was moments away from representing the USA in the International Tang Soo Do competition, held Nov. 11 and 12 in the Netherlands.

Crowd Surrounds Paterson Detectives Making Gun Arrest
A crowd of partiers moved in as Paterson detectives grabbed one of them who’d been carrying a gun, requiring backups to help restore order, authorities said.
Detectives Yamil Pimienta, Levis Qirjako, Mustafa Dombayci and John Rickowich had approached the group of 100 or so who were drinking, playing loud music and blocking traffic on 10th Avenue at East 26th Street late this past Saturday night.

Convicted NJ Sex Offender In Body Armor Busted With Loaded Rifle, Guns, Ammo: Police
A convicted sex offender who was wearing body armor when he crashed his car was found with several loaded weapons, high capacity magazines, hollow point bullets and more Sunday in Ocean County, authorities said.
A Mantaloking officer responded to the single-vehicle crash near the 1200 block where he found Jeremy W. Barringer, 46, of Toms River around 3 a.m., local police said.
The officer found a loaded AR-15 rifle, three high capacity magazines with hollow point bullets and a loaded 9mm handgun, along with more magazines containing hollow point bullet rounds, Mantaloking police said.

Bogota PD: Pair Broke Into Apartment, Assaulted Borough Man
Two ex-cons broke into a Bogota apartment to settle a score with another man, then fled after assaulting him, authorities said.
Gregory Owen Cannell, 53, and William E. Hafner, 56, were found by city police in Hackensack after the 6 p.m. burglary and assault in the 200 block of Ridgefield Avenue on Sunday, Sgt. Geoffrey Cole said.
Both men “had broken through a window and entered an apartment in order to assault another who was known to them,” Cole said.
