Ticketed Driver Dumps Full Soda Cup Into Ridgewood Parking Agent's Car, Flees, But Guess What? A motorist who found a ticket on his illegally parked vehicle in Ridgewood dumped a full cup of soda through the open driver's side window of a nearby parking agent's vehicle on Friday. A village police officer and patrol supervisor quickly responded to the scene of the Aug. 18 afternoon incident on Chestnut Street near East Ridgewood Avenue. The vandal had driven off, but police now have what looks to be legitimate vehicle information. Charges are expected shortly. Boyd A. Loving took the photo and wrote most of this story.

The Home Improvements driver out of Park Ridge escaped serious injury when the pole fell on East Ridgewood Avenue around 10 a.m. Monday, July 24. Car Rolls, Topples Utility Pole On Route 17 A car careened off Route 17, rolled and toppled a utility pole Monday night. No serious injuries were reported in the crash on the southbound highway near Franklin Turnpike in Ridgewood around 7:30 p.m. Ridgewood firefighters freed an occupant from the vehicle, which landed on its side on the shoulder. Detectives Investigate Swastikas Found In Ridgewood High School Bathroom Three swastikas were found in a Ridgewood High School bathroom stall last month, village police said Sunday. The swastikas were discovered "rubbed on a surface" of the stall on Oct. 18 and were being treated as a bias crime, police said in a release issued Sunday by Detective Sgt. Michael W. Lembo. "The surface was cleaned and there was no permanent damage," the release says. Ridgewood detectives were investigating.
