Fire At Lodi Auto Body Shop Quickly Doused
An early Friday evening fire damaged a Lodi auto body shop. The blaze ignited at Speed Auto Body on Rennie Place off Union Street shortly after the shop closed at 5 p.m. It quickly went to two alarms, but firefighters had it knocked down in a little over 20 minutes, preventing further damage. UPDATE: An emotionally troubled man who barricaded himself in his Lodi apartment Wednesday was safely brought out by SWAT team members after a nearly five-hour standoff. "He's going to be transported to [Hackensack University Medical Center] for an evaluation," Lt. Robert Salerno said moments later. Lodi PD: Moving Car Stops Safely After Thief Jumps Out
LODI, N.J. – A thief jumped from a stolen car while it was moving and was caught by a Lodi police officer, authorities said. Responding to the Robert Court owner’s call just after 1 a.m. Monday that someone had just taken his 2018 Subaru WRX, Officer Jesse Winfield tried to pull over the vehicle on Louis Street, Acting Police Chief Donald Scorzetti said.
