A body recovered from the Passaic River was that of a 78-year-old Woodland Park man reported missing on Labor Day, authorities confirmed. Fire department boats were summoned to the Hillery Street Bridge in Totowa, where a large number of police and Passaic County sheriff's officers had gathered around 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7. Around 11 a.m., responders said, the operation became a body recovery. Police: Hit-Run Driver Found At Wayne Go-Go Bar After Crash Topples Totowa Traffic Pole
A driver who fled the scene after knocking down a traffic light in Totowa overnight was found at a go-go bar in Wayne about an hour and a half later, responders said. Overall details remained sketchy, but police said a BMW toppled the pole on Totowa Road at Hillery Street/Riverview Avenue near the Woodland Park border and kept going shortly before 1 a.m. Police closed the intersection and summoned a PSE&G crew after the pole was left lying on power lines. Woman's Body Found In Vacant Totowa Home
A woman's body was found inside of a vacant multi-family home in Totowa on Tuesday, authorities said. Police were called to the Totowa Road home just before 1:30 p.m. on reports of a strange odor, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Totowa Police Chief Robert Coyle. There is no indication that the death of the unidentified individual is suspicious, authorities said.
