One of a group of specially-trained Jersey City police officers shot and killed a knife-wielding city man after he charged at them in his apartment, authorities said. An EMS unit was the first to respond to 2:15 p.m. call at the Randolph Avenue residence in the Bergen-Lafayette section of the city on Sunday, Aug. 27, according to a release issued late Monday by New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin. A philosophy professor from Hasbrouck Heights who authorities said planned to burn down St. Patrick's Cathedral died by suicide last week, nearly a month after being released from Rikers Island amid the coronavirus outbreak. Authorities are seeking the public's help locating a 47-year-old Franklin man who went missing after a car crash in Cumberland County. New York State Police say Anthony Dellomo was driving a black Chevy Impala southbound on Hwy. 55 in Millville when he swerved to the right in his vehicle and hit several trees on Sunday, Dec. 29 around 12:10 a.m. Surveillance footage showed Dellomo walking westbound on Route 49 away from the crash scene, authorities said. Authorities are seeking the public's help finding a missing Teaneck High School graduate last seen in Mount Vernon. Baturi Willis, 24, was last seen on W. Sandford Boulevard just after 4 p.m. July 10 wearing a pink tank top and gray tights. The 2012 Teaneck High School grad suffers from bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Self-Published 'Inspirational' Wyckoff Author Charged With Torching Former Home
A self-published Wyckoff author who wrote about suffering from depression and schizophrenia was charged with trying to burn down her former home. Carolyn M. Kaetz, 54, “admitted to Detective Sgt. Kevin Kasak that she started the fire” at her former residence at 115 Huntington Court in March, destroying it, Lt. Joseph Soto said. Port Authority Police At WTC Reunite Non-Verbal Missing Man With Family
A missing Bronx man who couldn't speak and wasn't carrying identification seemed confused as he wandered around the 9/11 memorial in lower Manhattan before dawn Thursday. Port Authority officers assigned to the World Trade Center handed him a pen -- on which the man wrote an address that ended up reuniting him with his family.
