Two Dead, Two Injured In Route 20 Crash In Paterson, Police Say
Two people died and two others were injured in a crash early Sunday morning, Aug. 18 in Paterson, authorities said. A motor vehicle carrying four occupants crashed into a pole just after 4 a.m. on Route 20 and 18th Street, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In- Charge Isa Abbassi said. Two passengers were pronounced dead at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, while the driver and another passenger remain in critical condition. The cause of the vehicle crash is undetermined. A homeless career criminal who threw a rock through the back door of an Elmwood Park residence during an attempted burglary didn't realize someone was home, authorities said. The homeowner was headed to work moments earlier when she spotted Tyler Demouth, 26, lurking around the neighborhood shortly before 9 a.m. Friday, June 2, Police Chief Michael Foligno said.
