A hard worker, a loving father and a loyal friend. This is how Hackensack's Thomas "Tommy" Epper was remembered. The 48-year-old was killed removing a tree for the Bergen County DPW in Saddle River on July 26, leaving behind his wife, two kids, beloved colleagues and countless friends. Funeral Services Set For Bergen County DPW Worker Who Died In Tree Accident
Funeral arrangements for Thomas "Tommy" Epper of Hackenasck have been set. The 48-year-old Bergen County DPW worker died on Thursday, July 26 while removing a Saddle River tree. A funeral service will be Aug. 1 at 11:30 a.m., at the Gentile Funeral Home, followed by burial at Hackensack Cemetery. The search for a Waldwick military veteran who wandered off from home Saturday morning entered its third day Monday with a false alarm or two but little else. Thomas Podschelne -- whose 60th birthday is this July 23 -- had briefly gone missing before but not for more than a half-day.
