A member of a drug ring that trafficked large quantities of heroin and cocaine into the Bayshore areas of Monmouth and Middlesex counties must spend the next 7½ years in federal prison. An Essex County prosecutor’s detective stuck a hidden GPS on a suspect’s vehicle without permission, then lied about where to find his county-issued cellphone when he was ordered to turn it in, state authorities said Friday. A fugitive accused of sexually assaulting a Passaic girl when she was between 5 and 7 years old was captured in Puerto Rico and returned to face prosecution in Passaic County, authorities said Friday.
