A vicious New Year's fire blew through the roof of a Paterson apartment building. A firefighter was brought to St. Joseph's University Medical Center with a minor injury sustained in Sunday's 10 a.m. blaze on Harrison Street. Fire Blows Through Roof Of Mixed-Use Building In Passaic, Nearly Two Dozen Displaced
UPDATE: What began as a basement fire quickly blew through the roof of a three-story mixed-use building in Passaic, displacing 21 residents. The fire began as a second alarmer, with heavy flames, in the basement at the corner of Passaic and Third streets shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29. It went to three alarms after flames shot up the walls to the second and third floors, and then the attic, less than 20 minutes later. Firefighters Stung By Bees While Battling Illegal West Milford Apartment Blaze
Three firefighters were treated for bee stings in an overnight fire that destroyed what turned out to be an illegal apartment found in a shed outside a West Milford home, authorities said. A resident also was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation after what began as a brush fire on Dudley Street off Broadway shortly after midnight Monday, Oct. 24. The first arriving units also found a shed on fire and flames approaching a house on the property.
