A quadruple shooting left one person dead and wounded four this weekend in Newark. Julius K. Ferguson, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident around 3:20 a.m. Sunday, May 7, on the 400 block of Orange Street, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II said. Three other victims were taken to University Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is active and ongoing. No arrests have been made. Newark Man Who Died While Running From Police Along Route 280 Identified
A Newark man who died while running from city police along Route 280 last week was identified by authorities on Wednesday. A review of the circumstances surrounding the death last Thursday, Jan. 5, of Raul L. DeJesus, 43, is required because it involved police, a Jan. 11 release from Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin's office says. Monmouth County Man Arrested For Illegal Dumping In Newark
A Monmouth County man was arrested for illegal dumping in Newark, authorities said. John Clark, of Highlands, was spotted by a city code enforcement member pouring unused concrete into a storm drain near Roseville Avenue and Orange Street around 11 a.m. Thursday, Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose said. Clark, 32, was arrested and faces charges of illegal dumping and illegal transporting of solid waste, Ambrose said.
