A bicyclist suffered serious injuries in a crash on Route 17 in Bergen County on Tuesday, Jan. 28, authorities confirmed. The Bergen County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene north near Essex Street in Lodi at approximately 1:42 p.m., according to Jeff Angermeyer, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office's deputy chief of detectives. The injured cyclist was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. A 52-year-old woman trying to park her car accidentally hit the accelerator, sending her vehicle into three others and then the brick wall of a store at a Route 17 shopping center, police said. The New Milford resident was attempting to park her 2024 White Honda Prologue in a designated parking stall when she hit the gas, sending her car into two other parked cars and a 2014 Land Rover driving through the lot of the Mid Ridge shopping center around 3:50 p.m., Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti said. Emergency Construction Shuts Route 17 Exit Ramp In Hasbrouck Heights
An exit ramp off Route 17 was closed Thursday afternoon, Sept. 5 due to emergency construction, the NJDOT website shows. As of 5 p.m., the ramp to Terrace Avenue/Polifly Road in Hasbrouck Heights along the northbound side of the highway was closed. A reason for the construction was not provided.

Route 17 North In Hasbrouck Heights Reopened After Transformer Fire
The northbound lanes of Rt. 17 near Williams Avenue in Hasbrouck Heights were shut down around noon Tuesday due to a transformer fire, the state Department of Transportation said. Police requested PSEG to respond on a rush. The roadway was reopened about an hour later.
