A call of a person seen on the hood of a moving sedan brought police to the intersection of Anderson Street and Vanderbeck Place shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, Capt. Darrin DeWitt said. Firefighters Free Driver From Second Vehicle Hit By Train In Hackensack This Month
UPDATE: Hackensack firefighters cut a driver from a vehicle after it was struck by a commuter train Wednesday morning, the second time in nine days that's happened in the city. The 70-year-old driver was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening after her Subaru Forester was struck as it crossed the tracks on Clinton Avenue at Linden Street around 7:50 a.m., police Capt. The driver of a pickup truck that hit two cars before plowing through the basement window of a Hackensack apartment on Monday didn't have a license, said police who also charged him with careless driving and failing to maintain a lane. Luis M. Hackensack Driver Who Struck Pole Said She Swerved To Avoid Another Car
HACKENSACK, N.J. -- A Hackensack driver told police she hit a utility pole and a "No Parking" sign early Tuesday afternoon after swerving to avoid another vehicle. The woman was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center after the crash at Linden and Passaic streets, Capt. Peter Busciglio said. A PSE&G crew arrived to repair the utility pole.

If you've crossed Hackensack's Linden Street at Clinton Place in the past 22 years, you've met Ulysses Kearny. At 91 years old, Kearny died last Sunday.
