Leon Gathers, 42, was last seen leaving his home near the corner of Harrison Avenue and Williams Street on Feb. 16, Police Capt. Mario Pozo said. Gathers, who doesn’t own or operate a vehicle, was walking, the captain said. He was wearing an orange “Champion" hoodie, blue jeans and tan work boots, Pozo said. Firefighters needed a little over 20 minutes to knock down the bulk of the Harrison Avenue blaze after it broke out around 2:15 p.m. The two-alarm fire displaced a couple of families whose members all got out OK, responders said. EMS treated a firefighter for a minor injury at the scene.
