Seen HIM? Garfield Man Missing More Than Two Months Authorities renewed a public plea for help finding a Garfield man who’s been missing for more than two months. Leon Gathers, 42, was last seen leaving his home near the corner of Harrison Avenue and Williams Street on Feb. 16, Police Capt. Mario Pozo said. Gathers, who doesn’t own or operate a vehicle, was walking, the captain said. He was wearing an orange “Champion" hoodie, blue jeans and tan work boots, Pozo said. Firefighters needed a little over 20 minutes to knock down the bulk of the Harrison Avenue blaze after it broke out around 2:15 p.m. The two-alarm fire displaced a couple of families whose members all got out OK, responders said. Garfield Shoplifter Caught Carrying Car Burglary Proceeds, Police Say GARFIELD, N.J. -- Garfield police got more than they expected when they busted a shoplifter before dawn Monday and found him carrying a credit card stolen during a car burglary less than an hour and a half before, authorities said. Dion C. Coleman, 27, of West Milford was nabbed just after 1 a.m. at the Walmart on Passaic Street, Detective Capt. Darren Sucorowski said.
