River Edge McDonald's Employee, 65, Struck Leaving Work, School Bus Crashes Moments Later In back-to-back accidents, a 65-year-old employee at the McDonald's in River Edge was struck crossing a busy nearby intersection Wednesday night, moments before a school bus crashed in front of the fast-food place, authorities said. The pedestrian, who lives in Hackensack, went in and out of consciousness after she was struck outside the Green Papaya restaurant at the corner of Kinderkamack and Grand avenues shortly after sunset on Jan. 10, River Edge Police Chief Michael Walker said. Van Splits Utility Pole On Route 4 Approach A van slammed into a utility pole, splitting it, just off westbound Route 4 on Friday. The driver of the Chevrolet Astro van was checked out at the scene and released following the crash just past Lakeview Street on the Grand Avenue approach to the highway in River Edge shortly before noon Aug. 4. The incident jammed area traffic. All Points Towing removed the vehicle and a crew from PSE&G replaced the pole.

Hackensack PD: Driver Caught With Starter Pistol, Blanks After River Edge Incident Alerted by River Edge police to a report of a driver pointing a handgun at another motorist, Hackensack police stopped a Moonachie man who they said was carrying a starter pistol loaded with blanks. Responding Officer Michael Reo stopped a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Rezart Bajrami at the River Edge border of Kinderkamack and Grand Avenue around 12:40 a.m. Tuesday, Capt.
