Van Splits Utility Pole On Route 4 Approach A van slammed into a utility pole, splitting it, just off westbound Route 4 on Friday. The driver of the Chevrolet Astro van was checked out at the scene and released following the crash just past Lakeview Street on the Grand Avenue approach to the highway in River Edge shortly before noon Aug. 4. The incident jammed area traffic. All Points Towing removed the vehicle and a crew from PSE&G replaced the pole.
