Both Deontee Jones, 24, and Earl Betterson, 33, have been arrested in the shooting death of Romulo Luzuriaga on Thursday, May 11, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Clifton Stolen Car Chase Ends In Newark Crash A stolen car pursuit that began in Clifton ended with a crash in Newark and three occupants in the wind, authorities said. Clifton Police Officer Matthew Rugel was in the area of Broad Street and Elmwood Drive when he spotted the 2020 Audi, which had been reported stolen out of Hazlet and connected to subsequent crimes, shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 2. Girl, 6, Grazed By Bullet In Newark Shooting: Report A young child and another person were struck by gunfire in Newark Friday afternoon, WABC 7 reported.  The 6-year-old girl was grazed in the kneecap in the shooting, which occurred around 4 p.m. at Grafton Avenue and Riverside Court. A male victim was hit in the leg.  The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, authorities said.
