! 'Bait Bike,' Fire Chief Help Nab Train Station Bicycle Thief: Glen Rock PD
Glen Rock police investigating a rash of bicycle thefts at its train stations nabbed a familiar face with help from technology and their borough's fire chief. Detectives attached a GPS tracker to a decoy bicycle before racking it at the NJ TRANSIT Bergen Line station, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. It was around 4:30 p.m. this past Friday, Oct. 27, when the "bait bike" was removed from the rack, he said. Police immediately headed toward the train station. Morning Fire Clears Glen Rock Grammar School
Early arrival students were escorted from the Alexander Hamilton School in Glen Rock on Wednesday after a small fire ignited in a hallway light fixture. Everything went smoothly as the youngsters were temporarily brought from the K-5 school on Harristown Road to the nearby Academy of Our Lady shortly after 8:30 a.m. Oct. 18. Police officers who arrived first immediately doused the fire with extinguishers, Glen Rock Police Lt. Frank Riggio said. No injuries were reported, the lieutenant said. ALERT: Glen Rock PD Seeks Help Finding Hit-Run Driver
SEE ANYTHING? Glen Rock police turned to the public for help finding a driver who took off after his vehicle shattered a utility pole. The pole on Maple Avenue in front of Wilde Park was snapped in half in the 11:30 p.m. crash Friday, Lt. Frank Riggio said. The vehicle continued north on Maple Avenue, he said.
