Demolition Of Nabisco Site Resuming Year After Postponement
Almost a year after it was called of amid public outcry, plans to demolish the shuttered Nabisco factory in Fair Lawn have once again been finalized. "Demolition at the Nabisco site is expected to resume shortly, with state approval. A non-explosive demolition will be undertaken," said a post on the borough's website on Monday, April 22. Nabisco Implosion Called Off Completely
Amid public outcry, the company behind plans to implode the shuttered Nabisco factory in Fair Lawn is reversing course. Implosion Of Nabisco Factory Postponed
What's left of the shuttered Nabisco factory on Route 208 will remain standing a little while longer. The borough of Fair Lawn announced the implosion, set for Saturday, April 15, has been postponed. A new date and time has not been announced. The borough did not give a reason for the postponement, though residents had expressed concern, including launching a petition, about the environmental impacts of the implosion.
