SEE ANYTHING? A gunman who shot out the back window of a van parked in Englewood near the Teaneck border before dawn Monday, police confirmed. Officer Brian Devenney was on Forest Avenue when he heard several quick shots around 2:40 a.m., Deputy Police Chief Gregory Halstead said. Arsonists set three fires two hours apart at the same housing complex in Englewood, said authorities who were seeking the public's help finding those responsible. A resident and his girlfriend tries to douse the first fire with an extinguisher shortly before midnight Sunday at the Tryon Gardens apartments, Deputy Police Chief Gregory Halstead said. No one was struck when someone fired several shots from outside into an occupied Englewood multi-family home Tuesday night, authorities said. Police were "exploring the possibility" that the shooting on West Palisade Avenue off the corner of Palisade Place shortly before 9 p.m. "stems from a stabbing at that very same location several weeks ago," Deputy Police Chief Gregory Halstead said. The reward for finding a seeing eye dog from Sussex County who’s been missing nearly 2½ weeks was increased Thursday to $6,000. An anonymous tip line also was established to report any sightings of Ondrea, the 14-month-old black and tan German shepherd who reportedly bolted on June 24 after pushing through an exterior door with a broken latch at the Wantage home of a volunteer puppy raiser. One bullet passed through the wall of an Englewood family's home and another hit their car before dawn over the weekend, said police who were investigating the shooting.
