New Milford police and firefighters quickly came to the rescue of two drivers involved in a Tuesday crash that knocked an SUV onto its side, trapping one of them. A 66-year-old Moonachie woman driving a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder blew a stop sign at Hoffman Avenue and Boulevard and struck a 2022 Hyundai Tucson driven by a 63-year-old man from town around noontime Sept. 5, New MIlford Police Chief Brian Clancy said. Police in New Milford turned to the public for help finding a pickup truck driver who fled after hitting and seriously injuring a 65-year-old bicyclist. The victim was struck by a white newer-model Ford pickup at the intersection of Boulevard and Hoffman Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, April 14, Capt. A Long Island man who was gunned down at an apartment complex in New Milford last month is being laid to rest this coming weekend as the hunt for his killer continued. Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella identified the victim shot in the head in the rear of the Bookchester Apartments in the 900 block of Boulevard on Nov. 26 as Jacques McDonald, 25, of Amityville. McDonald was taken in traumatic arrest to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 8 p.m., roughly an hour after the call, the prosecutor said. A man was shot and killed behind a New Milford garden apartment complex Saturday night, said investigators who were searching for his killer. The victim, a black man in his 20s who's believed to be from out of town, was shot in the head in the rear of the Bookchester Apartments in the 900 block of Boulevard shortly after 7 p.m. Nov. 26, responders said. Special Ed Student Among Those Injured In School Bus Crash In New Milford
A special education student and two adults sustained minor injuries when a school bus and a minivan collided in New Milford, authorities said. The Toyota minivan driver blew a stop sign before the crash sent the school bus careening onto a residential lawn at Boulevard and Graphic Boulevard around 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, Police Chief Brian T. Driver Extricated, Hospitalized In New Milford Crash
New Milford firefighters extricated a borough driver following a crash Monday afternoon. The 45-year-old victim was taken to Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck after she complained of neck and back pain, Detective Lt. Kevin Van Saders said. The other driver, a 49-year-old Tenafly woman, wasn't injured in the 2:30 p.m. crash at Henley Avenue and Boulevard, he said. An investigation was continuing.
