Ocean County College Jumper Airlifted: Police A female was airlifted to the hospital after leaping from a building on the Ocean County College campus Wednesday, Sept. 14, authorities said. Police responding to the five-story Kean Gateway Building campus found the victim, who had jumped from the roof around 12:25 p.m., Toms River police said. The female was alert and conscious and was flown to Jersey Shore Medical University for treatment of her injuries. Ocean County Sheriff’s officers and Silverton First Aid Squad also assisted at the scene. The incident remains under investigation.

Man Plunges Six Floors From Window In Hackensack, Police Investigate A 49-year-old man was hospitalized after apparently jumping out a 6th-floor window Saturday morning in Hackensack, authorities said. He was found unresponsive but breathing outside the Berkley Arms off Anderson Street shortly after 9:30 a.m., said Capt. Darrin DeWitt, the officer in charge of the department. An ambulance took him to Hackensack University Medical Center. Although no foul play was initially suspected, the area was treated as a crime scene and an investigation was continuing, the captain said.

A tug boat crew apparently spotted the man in the water under the bridge, and brought him to Front Street in Elizabeth after the 12:12 p.m. incident, sources said. Man, 22, Critical After Self-Inflicted Union County Gun Range Shooting A 22-year-old man who turned the gun on himself over the weekend at a Union County shooting range was in critical condition Monday, authorities said. The man had gone to RTSP on Route 22 with three friends when he fired three shots down the range, then shot himself around 7:20 p.m. Saturday, Union Township Police Director Dan Zieser said. The unidentified victim was taken to University Medical Center in Newark, where he remained in critical condition, Zieser said.
