Englewood Family Members Bitten By Their Bulldog
Two Englewood family members were hospitalized for treatment after their bulldog bit them Thursday morning, authorities said. The attack on the 51-year-old wlman and 18-year-old man by the American Bulldog in the 400 block of Westview Avenue shortly after 8 a.m. “appeared to be unprovoked,” Detective Capt. Timothy Torell said. Both of their injuries were serious but not life-threatening, Torell said. “The Englewood Health Department was notified and will be conducting a follow-up investigation,” he said.

: Dog Leads Police To Family Of Pedestrian, 64, Struck Crossing Fair Lawn Street
A dog led police to the family of a 64-year-old pedestrian who was struck while crossing a Fair Lawn street Wednesday night, authorities said. Both he and the 61-year-old driver of the SUV that hit him in a crosswalk on Berdan Avenue just after 6:30 p.m. were hospitalized, Police Sgt. Brian Metzler said. The pedestrian was reported in critical condition with head and leg injuries in the Intensive Care Unit at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, Metzler said. Paterson Native With Cancer Wants Her Bulldog Back
PATERSON, N.J. – A Paterson native with stage 3 colon cancer is fighting to get her dog back from animal control. Deborah Gonzales Schwadtke, who now lives in Vernon, said she has been without her dog, Tank, since Sept. 12. A judge declared Tank to be “potentially dangerous” after the 2 ½ year-old American Bulldog bit a neighbor. Schwadtke said the dog ran out in front of her niece, who set out to take another dog for a walk, and ended up at a neighbor’s house down the street.
