GARFIELD, N.J.– Football season is back in swing and the NFL's Play 60 Punt, Pass and Kick contest is coming to Garfield Sept. 24.

The free event – hosted by the city's Recreation Department – will start at 9 a.m. at 20th Century Field. It is open to children ages 6-15.

Each participant is allowed one punt, one pass and one placekick as part of his or her competition, according to the rules. Scores are based on both distance and accuracy.

Play 60 is a campaign to encourage kids to be active for 60 minutes a day in order to help reverse the trend of childhood obesity, according to its website.
