iLearn Schools Discuss Standardized Testing In Garfield

GARFIELD, N.J. -- The role of standardized testing in student development will the primary topic of conversation when iLearn Schools hosts the annual Quality in Education Summit in Garfield this Tuesday.

Bob Bowdon, executive director of ChoiceMedia TV, will moderate a panel discussion beginning at 6 p.m. at the Bergen Arts and Science Charter Middle School on MacArthur Avenue.

The panelists:

Janellen Duffy, executive director of JerseyCAN;

Dr. Bari Erlichson, special assistant to the commissioner, Data Literacy Initiative, New Jersey Department of Education;

Muhammed Akil, executive director of the Parent Coalition for Excellent Education

According to a media release:

"In order to continue promoting high-quality public education iLearn Schools hosts a series of panel discussions highlighting the successes, challenges, and expectations of public education in New Jersey. This program is called the iLearn Schools’ 'Quality in Education Summit.'

"The goal of this program is to bring together leaders in education from across New Jersey to add substantive thoughts and opinions to the pressing issues affecting our students."
