GARFIELD, N.J. — Jeffrey Stewart resigned from the Garfield Board of Education, NorthJersey.com reports.
The move came after Stewart's attorney told him his job as a police officer in the Community Affairs Division would cause a problem with the NJ School Ethics Commission's rules, according to NorthJersey.com
Stewart was in his seventh consecutive year on the board and his term expires in May 2018, the article said.
